Wunder-Baum is the European brand name for the iconic tree-shaped air freshener invented in 1952 by Julius Smann in Watertown, New York. Originally marketed as 'Little Trees' in the USA, the brand expanded globally using different names such as Wunder-Baum in Germany, Scandinavia, and Poland, and Arbre Magique in France, Italy, and Spain.

The product was born when a milk delivery driver complained to SDmann about the smell of spilled milk. Using specialized paper and fragrances rooted in pine needle oil, SDmann developed the disposable freshener that remains a cultural icon today. While the brand originated in the United States, manufacturing takes place in various locations globally, including the USA (by Car-Freshner Corporation) and several European factories (such as in Italy or Switzerland) to serve local markets. In the Nordic region, it is often distributed and managed by local entities but remains under the umbrella of the family-owned global enterprise.
