These pitted prunes (ciruelas pasas sin hueso) are a private-label product specifically developed for the Chilean market. Chile is one of the world's leading exporters of dried plums, which is why these products are typically sourced and processed within the country to meet high quality standards.

The brand's history is deeply rooted in the Chilean retail company Distribución y Servicio (D&S), which was founded by the Ibáñez family. In 2009, the global retail giant Walmart acquired a majority stake in D&S, eventually renaming it Walmart Chile. Today, Lider functions as the Chilean equivalent of Walmart's flagship supermarkets, offering a wide range of house-branded commodities owned and managed by the Arkansas-based multinational corporation.
