Philips Air Purifier 800 Series

Philips is a heritage brand originally from the Netherlands, known for its long history in electronics and healthcare technology. The brand was founded in Eindhoven in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik. Over the decades, Philips transitioned from lighting to diverse consumer electronics, including air purifiers.

While the brand maintains its Dutch identity, the consumer appliances division was sold by Royal Philips to Hillhouse Capital in 2021. Today, these products are managed by Versuni (formerly Philips Domestic Appliances). Most manufacturing of these consumer electronics, including the 800 series air purifiers, takes place in China to leverage global supply chain efficiencies. The ultimate ownership now resides with investment firm Hillhouse Capital, based in Hong Kong, though the brand continues to operate under the Philips name through a licensing agreement.
