Font Vella Still Mineral Water

Font Vella is an iconic Spanish brand of natural mineral water with a heritage dating back over 150 years. Its journey began in 1898 when Jaume Traverías first distributed water from the Font Vella spring in Sant Hilari Sacalm, Girona, to local visitors. The water was officially recognized for its exceptional purity and low mineralization in the mid-20th century, specifically being declared for public consumption in 1956.

Today, the product is primarily bottled at two main sources in Spain: the Sant Hilari Sacalm plant in the Guilleries Natural Area (Girona) and a second facility in Sigüenza (Guadalajara). These sites are located in protected natural areas, ensuring the water retains its unique mineral balance, which is particularly favored for low-sodium diets and baby food preparation.

Since 1994, Font Vella has been a key brand under the umbrella of the French multinational food company Danone. It is managed locally by Aguas Danone S.A. in Spain. As part of Danone's global commitments, the brand has focuses heavily on sustainability, utilizing recycled PET (rPET) for its bottles and implementing renewable energy across its production facilities.
