Renthal is a prestigious British manufacturer renowned globally for its high-performance handlebars and bike components. Founded in 1969 by Henry Rosenthal and Andrew Renshaw—who combined their surnames to create the brand name—the company began by producing aluminum handlebars for trials bikes. Unlike many global brands that outsource production, Renthal maintains its manufacturing heart in Stockport, near Manchester, UK, where it operates a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to engineering and quality control.
Ownership of the brand has a notable history; while it was sold to the US-based Motorsport Aftermarket Group (MAG) in 2006, the co-founder Henry Rosenthal successfully bought the business back in 2018. This move returned the company to independent British ownership under the parent entity Race Valley Limited. Today, Renthal remains a dominant force in both the motorcycle and mountain biking industries, providing original equipment (OEM) for major manufacturers like Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, and supporting numerous world champions.
