Over the decades, the ownership of LU has transitioned through several major food conglomerates. It was acquired by Groupe Danone in 1986 and later sold to Kraft Foods in 2007. Following a corporate spin-off in 2012, the brand became part of Mondelēz International. Today, Mondelēz International, an American multinational headquartered in Chicago, remains the ultimate owner and oversees the production and distribution of LU products globally, maintaining the brand's heritage while operating modern manufacturing facilities across Europe.
