Jameson Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey

Jameson is a world-renowned brand of blended Irish whiskey with a heritage dating back to 1780. It was founded by John Jameson, a Scotsman who took over the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. For nearly two centuries, the whiskey was distilled in the heart of Dublin's Smithfield area. However, in 1975, production was moved to the state-of-the-art New Midleton Distillery in County Cork to meet rising global demand. Today, all Jameson whiskey is produced at this single location in Ireland using a traditional triple distillation process.

Ownership of the brand has evolved through several key phases. In 1966, John Jameson & Son merged with other leading Irish distillers to form the Irish Distillers Group. In 1988, this group was acquired by the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard. Under Pernod Ricard's stewardship, Jameson has expanded its international presence significantly, becoming the best-selling Irish whiskey globally. The original Bow Street site now serves as a popular visitor center and museum dedicated to the brand's history.
