Findus frozen food

Findus is a pioneer in the frozen food industry with a history dating back to 1905 in Bjuv, Sweden, where it was originally founded as a fruit concentrate and canning company. The brand transitioned into frozen food production in 1945, becoming one of the first in Europe to offer deep-frozen retail products. Throughout the 20th century, the brand expanded across the continent under the ownership of major conglomerates such as Nestlé and Unilever.

Today, Findus is part of the Nomad Foods portfolio, the largest frozen food company in Europe. Nomad Foods unified the brand across various European markets, including the UK, Italy, France, Spain, and Scandinavia, through a series of tactical acquisitions. Manufacturing is handled across multiple facilities in Europe to serve local markets efficiently. For instance, while its historical Swedish heartland facility in Bjuv was closed in 2017 to consolidate production, the company continues to operate various production sites across Germany, Italy, and other European nations to maintain its extensive product lineup of vegetables, ready meals, and fish products.
