Tullibardine is a historic Highland single malt Scotch whisky rooted in Blackford, Perthshire, Scotland. The site has a legacy dating back to 1488, though the modern distillery was established in 1949 by William Delmé-Evans. The "228" expression refers to the 228-litre Burgundy wine casks used for finishing the spirit, resulting in a unique flavor profile characteristic of its Highland origin.

Today, the distillery is one of the few in Scotland that remains fully independent of the major multi-national beverage conglomerates like Diageo or Pernod Ricard. Since 2011, it has been owned and operated by Terroirs Distillers, a French family-owned company known for its specialization in spirits. The entire production process, including distillation and maturation, takes place on-site in Blackford, ensuring the product maintains its traditional Scottish heritage under French ownership.
