Cacaolat is an iconic Spanish brand known for its bottled milkshakes. It was founded in 1933 by Joan Viader Roger in Barcelona, making it the first industrially manufactured cocoa milkshake in the world. The brand survived various economic shifts over the decades, maintaining its status as a staple drink in Spanish culture, particularly in the Catalonia region.

Historically, the brand was part of the Letona group and later passed through the hands of various conglomerates, including Nueva Rumasa. After a period of administrative restructuring, it was acquired by a joint venture between the Damm brewery and the Cobega group. In recent years, the ownership has been consolidated under the Damm Group.

Manufacturing primarily takes place in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, near Barcelona. The brand's identity is deeply tied to its 'Pepi' mascot and its secret recipe that has remained largely unchanged for nearly a century. Today, Cacaolat continues to expand internationally while remaining a symbolic leader in the Spanish dairy beverage market.
