Pickwick is a storied Dutch tea brand with a heritage dating back to 1753, originally founded under the Douwe Egberts name in Joure, Friesland. The Pickwick brand name itself was introduced in 1937, inspired by Charles Dickens' Pickwick Papers. It has since become a staple in many households across Europe, particularly in the Benelux region.
The tea is primarily blended and packaged in the Netherlands, maintaining a high standard of quality for its diverse range of black, green, and herbal infusions. Rooibos, like the product shown, is sourced from the Cederberg region of South Africa before being processed.
Today, Pickwick is owned by JDE Peet's, a global leader in coffee and tea. JDE Peet's was formed through various mergers, including the combination of the coffee-and-tea business of Mondelez International with D.E Master Blenders 1753 (the successor company of Douwe Egberts). The company is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
