B.T. newspaper

B.T. is a major Danish tabloid newspaper with a history dating back to 1916. It was originally founded by Henry Hellssen as a tabloid-style spin-off of Berlingske Tidende, with the aim of providing news in a more accessible and visually engaging format for a wider audience. Historically, the physical production of the newspaper took place in Denmark, primarily at Berlingske Media's own printing facilities like Trykkompagniet in Slagelse.

In a landmark move for the Danish media landscape, B.T. transitioned to a fully digital-only model at the beginning of 2023, effectively ending its status as a daily print publication. Despite the cessation of daily print distribution, the brand remains a significant player in the digital news space. The brand is owned by Berlingske Media, which in turn is a subsidiary of the Belgian media group DPG Media (formerly De Persgroep). DPG Media acquired Berlingske Media in 2015 and continues to be the ultimate owner, managing various prominent Danish media titles from its headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium.
