Indomie Chicken Flavour instant noodles

Indomie is an iconic global brand of instant noodles that originated in Indonesia. First launched in 1972 by PT Sanmaru Food Manufacturing, the Chicken Flavour (Kaldu Ayam) was the very first variant introduced to the market, predating the famous Mi Goreng by over a decade. The brand's name is a portmanteau of 'Indo' (for Indonesia) and 'mie' (the Indonesian word for noodles).

While the brand is rooted in Indonesia, its manufacturing footprint is truly global to meet massive international demand. For the European market, including the Netherlands, Indomie is primarily manufactured in Serbia by IndoAdriatic Industry, which has served as the principal production hub for Europe since 2016. However, the parent company operates 17 factories worldwide, including major facilities in Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey, and Morocco.

Today, Indomie is owned by Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (specifically through its consumer branded products subsidiary, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk). Indofood is a core part of the Salim Group, one of Indonesia's largest conglomerates founded by Sudono Salim. The brand remains under the leadership of the Salim family, maintaining its status as one of the world's most popular and widely distributed instant noodle labels.
