Fludent is a well-established brand of fluoride tablets (fluortabletter) used for the prevention of dental caries (tooth decay), particularly in children. The brand was originally developed and marketed by Actavis (a company with Icelandic-American roots). However, following a series of corporate acquisitions and divestments in the pharmaceutical sector, the brand was acquired by Karo Pharma AB (now Karo Healthcare).
Karo Healthcare is a leading European consumer healthcare company based in Stockholm, Sweden. While the brand has its roots in the Nordic pharmaceutical market, manufacturing typically occurs across multiple specialized facilities in Europe to meet regional health standards. In 2019, Karo Pharma was acquired by the private equity firm EQT, and subsequently, in late 2024/2025, it was confirmed that the global investment firm KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.) became the ultimate owner of Karo Healthcare. This transition reflects the brand's integration into a large-scale international portfolio focused on everyday healthcare products.
