Dermafresh is a specialized line of personal care products, most notably recognized for its range of dermatological deodorants designed for sensitive and normal skin. The brand was originally part of the portfolio of the Swedish pharmaceutical company Meda AB. In 2016, Meda was acquired by Mylan, a global generic and specialty pharmaceuticals company. Following a major industry consolidation in 2020, Mylan merged with Upjohn (a former division of Pfizer) to form Viatris Inc., which became the ultimate owner of the brand.
In late 2023, Viatris announced the divestment of its consumer healthcare business to Cooper Consumer Health, a European consumer healthcare group backed by CVC Capital Partners. This transition includes brands like Dermafresh and manufacturing facilities located in Europe. Historically and currently, many Dermafresh products are manufactured in Italy, specifically managed by the Meda Pharma S.p.A. subsidiary based in Milan. The brand is marketed as a pharmacy-grade solution, often formulated without gases or harsh propellants, focusing on maintaining skin physiological balance.
