The Fender Blues Junior Lacquered Tweed is a modern classic in the world of tube guitar amplifiers. Originally introduced in 1995 as part of the 'Tweed Series,' it was designed to offer the warm, vintage-inspired tones of 1950s American blues and rock in a portable and affordable package. While the very first iterations (1995–2001) were manufactured in the United States, production of the Blues Junior was moved to Ensenada, Mexico, in 2001. Current versions, including the Lacquered Tweed and the version IV, are primarily manufactured in Mexico.

This specific model is highly regarded for its distinctive lacquered tweed covering and its use of a 12-inch Jensen C12N speaker, which is manufactured in Italy. The internal circuitry utilizes EL84 power tubes and 12AX7 preamp tubes to deliver its signature sound. Ownership of the brand has evolved over decades; originally founded by Leo Fender in California, the company is now under the majority ownership of Servco Pacific Inc., a Hawaii-based firm that has been involved with the brand since the 1950s.
