Simple is a historic British skincare brand that has specialized in products for sensitive skin since its inception. The brand's journey began in 1960 when a British chemist developed the first perfume-free and color-free soap to treat his children's sensitive skin. Over the decades, it evolved from a single soap bar into a comprehensive skincare range known for its "Kind to Skin" philosophy, avoiding harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes, and dyes.
Historically, the brand has passed through several corporate hands. Originally created by the Albion Group, it was later owned by Smith & Nephew and then Accantia. In 2009, it was acquired by the American company Alberto-Culver, which was subsequently purchased by the global consumer goods giant Unilever in 2010. Today, Simple remains a core brand within Unilever’s personal care portfolio. While its heritage is firmly rooted in the United Kingdom, manufacturing now takes place in multiple locations worldwide to supply its global markets, including facilities in Europe and Asia.
