Chopard, a name synonymous with Swiss luxury, has a rich heritage dating back to 1860 when it was founded by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in Sonvilier, Switzerland. Originally renowned for its precision pocket watches and chronometers, the brand underwent a significant transformation in 1963 when it was acquired by the Scheufele family of Germany. Under their leadership, Chopard expanded into high jewelry and eventually into luxury accessories, including eyewear.

Chopard's eyewear line is produced through a long-standing licensing partnership with the Italian eyewear specialist De Rigo Vision. Most of the collection is manufactured in Longarone, Italy, where expert artisans apply jewelry-making techniques to spectacle frames. However, certain specialized lines, particularly those featuring high-quality titanium or specific regional designs, are manufactured in Japan. This dual production strategy ensures that each piece meets the brand's exacting standards for craftsmanship and material excellence.

Today, Chopard remains one of the last family-run independent watch and jewelry houses. The brand is globally recognized for its commitment to ethical luxury and its prominent role as an official partner to prestigious events like the Cannes Film Festival. The eyewear collections often reflect the brand's iconic jewelry motifs, such as the "Happy Diamonds" and "Imperiale" designs, bridging the gap between functional accessories and fine jewelry.
