Conimex Naturel Kroepoek

Conimex is a heritage Dutch brand specializing in Asian-inspired ingredients and snacks, particularly those from Indonesian cuisine. Founded in 1932 in Baarn, the Netherlands, it initially focused on importing authentic flavors and products from the Dutch East Indies (modern-day Indonesia). The 'Naturel Kroepoek' shown in the image is a staple prawn cracker, traditionally produced by kneading shrimp and tapioca flour, then frying them to create a crispy texture.

While the brand was a long-standing property of Unilever for over two decades, it underwent a significant change in ownership. In late 2024, Unilever announced the sale of the brand, and it was officially acquired by the Finnish food company Paulig Group in April 2025. Today, under Paulig's ownership, the brand continues to lead the market in the Netherlands and Belgium. The production of the crackers often involves processing in European facilities while maintaining sustainable sourcing of key raw materials, such as shrimp and cassava, directly from Indonesian waters and farms.
