TVR is a storied British manufacturer of high-performance sports cars, originally founded in 1947 by Trevor Wilkinson in Blackpool, England. The company became famous for its lightweight chassis, powerful engines, and distinct fiberglass body designs, producing iconic models such as the Griffith, Chimaera, and Tuscan. Throughout its history, TVR has been known for a purist driving experience, often eschewing electronic driver aids in favor of raw mechanical performance.

Over the decades, the brand has undergone several changes in leadership. After being owned by Peter Wheeler during its peak years in the 1980s and 90s, it was sold to Russian businessman Nikolay Smolensky in 2004. In 2013, the brand returned to British hands when it was acquired by TVR Automotive Ltd, a consortium led by Les Edgar. While the company has faced significant delays in bringing new models like the reborn Griffith to market, it remains headquartered in the UK with plans for manufacturing facilities in Wales.
