Toniebox audio player

The Toniebox is an innovative screen-free audio player for children, first launched in 2016. It was designed to replace fragile CDs and complex interfaces with a durable, cushioned cube and NFC-enabled figurines called 'Tonies'. When a figurine is placed on top of the box, it automatically triggers the corresponding audio content.

The brand was founded in Düsseldorf, Germany by Patric Faßbender and Marcus Stahl. Since its inception, the company has expanded globally, becoming a household name in Europe and North America. While the design and conceptual work happen in Germany, the physical manufacturing of the speaker boxes and figures primarily takes place in China to facilitate large-scale distribution. The brand remains under the control of its parent company, Tonies SE.
