OSRAM LED Light Bulb

Osram is a historic lighting brand originally founded in Germany in 1919 through the merger of the lighting businesses of Auergesellschaft, AEG, and Siemens & Halske. Over a century, it became one of the world's leading lighting manufacturers.

In recent years, the company structure has changed significantly. In 2016, Osram spun off its general lighting business into a separate company called LEDVANCE, which includes the consumer-facing LED bulbs like the one shown. LEDVANCE was subsequently acquired by a Chinese consortium and is currently owned by MLS Co., Ltd. Additionally, the core Osram company was acquired by the Austrian sensor specialist ams AG in 2020, forming ams OSRAM.

Manufacturing of these consumer LED bulbs occurs across various global locations, including major facilities in China and Europe. While the brand carries a German heritage and name, its consumer lighting division is now under Chinese ownership and global distribution.
