Havana Club Especial Rum

Havana Club Especial is a premium golden rum produced in Cuba. The brand was established in 1934 by José Arechabala S.A. in Cárdenas, Cuba. Following the nationalization of the company after the Cuban Revolution, the brand became property of the Cuban government. Since 1993, the brand has been managed through a 50/50 joint venture between the state-owned Cuba Ron S.A. and the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard.

In most global markets, including Europe (de-DE), the Havana Club sold is this Cuban-made version. The production process takes place entirely in Cuba, utilizing local sugarcane and traditional aging methods in white oak barrels to achieve its characteristic flavor profile. However, there is a separate entity for the U.S. market due to trademarks and embargos, but for the product pictured, the ownership and manufacturing are strictly tied to the Cuban-French partnership.
