Nudossi Hazelnut Nougat Spread

Nudossi is a renowned German brand of hazelnut nougat spread, widely recognized as the East German counterpart to Nutella. Developed in the 1970s by the state-owned enterprise (VEB) Vadossi in Radebeul, it was created partly to utilize a high concentration of hazelnuts when other ingredients like cocoa were scarce. To this day, Nudossi distinguishes itself by its high hazelnut content (36%), which is significantly higher than many international competitors.

Manufacturing remains rooted in its historical home of Radebeul, Saxony, Germany. Following the reunification of Germany, the original production facility faced bankruptcy but was revived in the late 1990s. The brand is currently owned and managed by Sächsische und Dresdner Back- und Süßwaren GmbH (SDBS). This family-owned medium-sized enterprise has successfully expanded the brand's reach from a regional favorite to a product available across Germany and selected international markets, maintaining its tradition of Saxon confectionery expertise.
