Wasa is one of the world's most iconic crispbread brands, established in 1919 in Skellefteå, Sweden. Originally known as AB Skellefteå Valskvarn, it rebranded to Wasa in reference to the Swedish King Gustav Vasa. The brand's products are widely recognized for their high fiber content and focus on natural, simple ingredients.

While the brand has deep Swedish roots, its manufacturing operations were expanded across Europe to meet global demand. Today, a significant portion of its production happens at its large bakery in Germany, though it maintains operations in Sweden as well. Since 1999, the brand has been under the ownership of the Barilla Group, a prominent Italian food company. Under Barilla's leadership, Wasa has positioned itself as a carbon-neutral brand, emphasizing environmental sustainability alongside its traditional baking methods.
