Suunto 5 GPS sports watch

Suunto is a well-known Finnish brand famous for designing and manufacturing sports watches, dive computers, and precision instruments. Founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, the inventor of the liquid-filled field compass, the company has its headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. While Suunto historically manufactured its products in Finland, production of many of its modern electronic watches has been shifted to facilities in China. Suunto was acquired by the Chinese sportswear giant Amer Sports, which is ultimately controlled by the Anta Sports consortium. Despite changes in international corporate ownership, Suunto maintains its strong heritage in outdoor sports and continues to design its precision instruments in Finland.
