Berghaus Backpack

Berghaus was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1966 by climbers and mountaineers Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison. Initially launched from their outdoor store, the LD Mountain Centre, Berghaus quickly became a renowned pioneer in technical outdoor gear and performance backpacks, being among the first in Europe to integrate Gore-Tex fabrics.

Today, Berghaus is owned by Pentland Group, a major privately held British multinational company managing a global portfolio of sports and fashion brands (such as Speedo, Ellesse, and Endura). While the design, innovation, and brand heritage remain rooted in the United Kingdom, production of Berghaus backpacks and outdoor equipment takes place across multiple contracted manufacturing facilities globally, primarily situated in Asia (including Vietnam and China).
