Babybel Original Snack Cheese

Babybel is an iconic French cheese snack brand recognized globally for its individual red wax-encased portions. Introduced in 1952 by Fromageries Bel (now known as the Bel Group / Groupe Bel), Mini Babybel was launched in 1977 as a portable, single-portion variation of their original Dutch-style Edam cheese.

The Bel Group is a major multinational cheese manufacturer headquartered in Suresnes, France, famous for brands like The Laughing Cow (La Vache qui rit), Boursin, and Kiri. The company remains predominantly owned by the founding family via holding companies Unibel and FieBel.

Babybel cheeses distributed in Denmark and across Europe are primarily manufactured in Bel's specialized dairy facilities in Évron and Sablé-sur-Sarthe in France, though Bel also operates regional production sites internationally, such as in the United States and Slovakia, to supply other geographic markets.
