Brand Origin

Wilkinson Sword was founded in London, England, in 1772 by Henry Nock. Initially renowned for manufacturing firearms, bayonets, and ceremonial swords, the company diversified into personal grooming in the late 19th century. In 1898, it introduced the 'Pall Mall' safety razor and went on to produce revolutionary stainless steel razor blades, establishing itself as a household name across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Ownership

Over the decades, Wilkinson Sword underwent several corporate restructurings and acquisitions. In 2003, Energizer Holdings acquired the brand alongside Schick. In 2015, Energizer spun off its personal care division into an independent, publicly traded American company, Edgewell Personal Care Company. Today, Edgewell owns and operates the Wilkinson Sword brand globally outside of North America (where it is branded primarily under the Schick name).

Manufacturing

Wilkinson Sword double-edge safety razor blades and high-precision shaving products are predominantly manufactured at Edgewell's specialized blade manufacturing facility located in Solingen, Germany, a city historic for fine cutlery and steel blade craftsmanship.
