LG Electronics traces its origins back to 1958 when it was founded as Goldstar in South Korea. Established in the aftermath of the Korean War, the company was a pioneer in South Korea's domestic consumer electronics and home appliance manufacturing, producing the nation's first radios, refrigerators, televisions, and washing machines. In 1995, Goldstar merged its corporate identity with Lucky Chemical to become Lucky-Goldstar, which was eventually rebranded into the global household name LG under the slogan 'Life's Good'.
The brand is owned by LG Electronics Inc., which is part of LG Corporation (LG Group), one of South Korea's largest multinational chaebols (conglomerates) headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. In Spain, operations, marketing, and distribution are handled by its regional subsidiary, LG Electronics España S.A.U., located in Las Rozas, Madrid.
LG manufactures washing machines across a network of global production facilities. While advanced engineering and key high-end models often originate in South Korea (Changwon), LG produces washing machines distributed in Europe across several manufacturing hubs, including facilities in Poland (Wrocław), China, and Vietnam.
