Nestlé Walnut Whip

The Walnut Whip is a classic British chocolate confection, famous for its unique cone shape consisting of a milk chocolate shell filled with a light, whipped vanilla fondant cream and topped with a single walnut half. Historically, it is one of the oldest chocolate treats in the UK, having been a staple of the British confectionery market for over a century.

Originally launched by the Halifax-based confectionery company Duncan's of Edinburgh in 1910, the brand became a household name across the United Kingdom. Over the decades, the ownership transitioned through various mergers and acquisitions within the British food industry. It eventually became part of the Rowntree's portfolio, a major British confectioner, before that company was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé in the late 1980s.

Today, the product is manufactured and distributed by Nestlé, which maintains its production facilities within the United Kingdom. While the original version features a walnut, Nestlé has also introduced 'Whip' variants without the nut to cater to different consumer preferences. Despite the change in corporate ownership to a Swiss entity, the Walnut Whip remains an iconic piece of British cultural heritage and continues to be produced with a focus on its traditional market in the UK and Ireland.
