Winter, the brand initially gained fame through its innovative protective eyewear for athletes and industrial workers. Today, it is a leading player in both the sports and industrial safety markets, producing everything from cycling helmets and ski goggles to industrial safety glasses and hearing protection.

The Uvex Group operates with a strong commitment to manufacturing excellence, maintaining a significant portion of its production facilities within Europe, particularly in Germany and Italy, to ensure high quality standards. Ownership of the brand is divided between two distinct entities following a strategic brand licensing structure: the Uvex Group (Uvex Winter Holding GmbH & Co. KG) retains the rights for the sports and leisure sectors worldwide and the industrial safety sector outside of the Americas. Meanwhile, the Uvex industrial safety brand in the Americas is owned and operated by Honeywell International Inc., which acquired those specific rights to leverage the brand's reputation for high-performance safety solutions in the North American market.
