Ibumetin is a well-known pharmaceutical brand specializing in ibuprofen-based pain relief and anti-inflammatory medication. It is a staple in many Northern and Eastern European households for treating pain, fever, and inflammation. The brand has a long-standing reputation for efficacy in the over-the-counter (OTC) medical market.

Originally developed by the Danish pharmaceutical company Nycomed, the brand has undergone several ownership transitions as the global pharmaceutical landscape consolidated. It was part of the portfolio acquired by Takeda Pharmaceuticals when the Japanese giant purchased Nycomed in 2011.

Currently, Ibumetin is owned by Orifarm Group, a leading European supplier of parallel-imported pharmaceuticals and a significant manufacturer of generic drugs. The brand was acquired by Orifarm as part of a major asset purchase from Takeda in 2020/2021. Manufacturing occurs across multiple European facilities to supply the Scandinavian and Baltic markets where the brand is most prominent.
