Since 2018, the brand has been under the ownership of Hisense, a Chinese multinational electronics manufacturer. This acquisition integrated Gorenje into one of the world's largest appliance ecosystems, combining European design with Chinese technological scale. Despite the change in ownership, the brand maintains its headquarters and significant R&D operations in Velenje, Slovenia, serving markets throughout Europe and beyond.
