Guayakí Yerba Mate Enlighten Mint

Guayakí Yerba Mate started in 1996 in Sebastopol, California, as a pioneer in introducing the traditional South American yerba mate plant to the North American market. The brand was founded by Alex Pryor and David Karr with a mission to use a market-driven restoration business model that focuses on social and environmental sustainability in the Atlantic Forest.

The raw yerba mate leaves are sourced from South America, primarily from smallholdings and indigenous communities in Argentina, Paraguay, and Southern Brazil. The manufacturing process, including brewing and canning of the RTD (Ready-to-Drink) line shown in the image, typically takes place in the United States and Canada to serve regional markets. Guayakí remains an independent B-Corp company, prioritizing fair trade and organic certified products rather than being absorbed by a major global beverage conglomerate.
