Peter's Yard is a premium crispbread and cracker brand that was born from an authentic Swedish sourdough recipe but established as a commercial brand in the United Kingdom. Founded by Jan Nilsson and Peter Ljungquist in 2008, the brand focuses on 'slow food' principles, using a 16-hour fermented sourdough starter.

Originally starting in a small bakery in Edinburgh, the company grew rapidly due to its high-quality ingredients and traditional methods. In 2022, Lotus Bakeries, a major Belgian snack company, acquired Peter's Yard through its venture capital arm, Fast Forward 2030, after having held a minority stake since 2019. Despite the Swedish inspiration and ownership by a Belgian group, the manufacturing remains primarily focused in the United Kingdom to serve its core British market.
