It operates major production plants in Vietnam to serve the Asian market and in India for its commercial and scooter segments.

The brand is the flagship of the Piaggio Group (Piaggio & C. SpA), which is currently controlled by the Immsi SpA holding company. As of 2024 and beyond, the Colaninno family maintains leadership within the group, overseeing a portfolio that includes other legendary brands like Aprilia and Moto Guzzi.
