Today, the salt is primarily sourced and processed in the Netherlands and Denmark, where it is extracted from ancient underground salt layers. While this specific variant is 'Salt without Iodine' (Salt utan jod), JOZO remains widely recognized for its diverse range of grain sizes and mineral origins, including sea salt and Himalayan salt.

Since 2021, JOZO has been owned by the Salins Group (Groupe Salins), a leading French salt company with over 160 years of expertise. The brand's packaging often pays homage to its Dutch heritage and mid-century modern design elements, continuing its legacy as a household staple across Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
