Aylmer Tomato Paste

Aylmer is a historic Canadian brand with roots dating back to 1881 in Aylmer, Ontario. Originally established by local businessmen as the Aylmer Canning and Evaporating Company, the brand became a cornerstone of the Canadian canning industry. By 1903, it became part of Canadian Canners Ltd, which eventually dominated the market across the country.

Today, the brand's canned tomato products are owned by Conagra Brands, an American multinational food company. While the soup line of the Aylmer brand was licensed to BCI Foods (formerly Baxters Canada) in Quebec, the tomato paste and canned tomato line remain under the direct control of Conagra Brands Canada. Most Aylmer tomato products are produced in Ontario, specifically utilizing tomatoes grown in the province, often processed within 24 hours of harvest to maintain freshness.
