Babboe Curve mountain cargo bike

Babboe is a well-known Dutch brand specializing in cargo bikes, originally founded in 2005 by a group of parents looking for a high-quality yet affordable transportation solution for their children. The brand quickly became a market leader in the Netherlands and expanded internationally.

Manufacturing takes place in the Netherlands, where the bikes are designed and assembled. In 2018, Babboe was acquired by the Accell Group, a major European bicycle company. This partnership provided Babboe with the resources to expand its product line and distribution network further. In 2024, the brand faced significant public scrutiny due to safety recalls and corporate investigations regarding frame durability, leading to a restructuring and increased oversight by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
