Nestlé KitKat Dark chocolate bar

KitKat is a globally recognized chocolate bar consisting of chocolate-covered wafers. The brand originated in the United Kingdom in 1935, initially launched by Rowntree's of York as Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp before being renamed in 1937.

Today, KitKat is primarily owned globally by Nestlé S.A., a Swiss multinational food and beverage company. However, a unique licensing agreement exists in the United States where the brand is manufactured and distributed by The Hershey Company. For the rest of the world, including Europe and Asia, Nestlé manages the production and marketing.

Manufacturing takes place in various specialized facilities worldwide, most notably in York (UK), Hamburg (Germany), and Dubai (UAE), as well as in Japan which is famous for its wide variety of unique regional flavors.
