For many years, Wayfayrer was owned and manufactured by Malton Foods (formerly Westler Foods), based in North Yorkshire, UK. In a significant shift in ownership, it was announced in September 2024 that the AMG Group, a leading UK outdoor equipment company based in Scotland (owner of brands like Vango and Force Ten), acquired the Wayfayrer brand from Malton Foods (a subsidiary of the Dutch Zwanenberg Food Group). Despite the change in brand ownership, the production traditionally remains rooted in the United Kingdom, utilizing specialized ambient food processing technology to ensure a long shelf life without refrigeration.
