ION Amygdalou is one of Greece's most iconic chocolate bars, famously recognized by its red packaging featuring almond blossoms. The brand ION was founded in 1930 in the Neo Faliro area of Athens and has since become synonymous with high-quality Greek chocolate.

Historically an independent family-run company, ION reached a significant milestone in recent years regarding its ownership. In 2022, a strategic agreement was reached where Spyros Theodoropoulos (known for his success with Chipita) acquired an initial significant stake, eventually moving toward majority control. Production remains centered in Greece, primarily at the company's facilities in Neo Faliro and Arta, maintaining the traditional recipes that have made it a market leader for nearly a century.
