Herta is a widely recognized brand for deli and refrigerated dough products across Europe. Originally established in Germany, the brand's French operations became a cornerstone of its business. The Tarte en Or line consists of ready-to-roll doughs, such as puff and shortcrust pastry, which are staples in French households for both savory and sweet recipes.

In terms of ownership, Herta underwent a significant transition in early 2020. Previously fully owned by Nestlé, the brand is now managed through a joint venture. Casa Tarradellas, a Spanish family-owned company specializing in food products, holds a 60% majority stake, while Nestlé retains the remaining 40%. The production for the French market is primarily carried out in specialized facilities in France, such as the one in Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise.
