Biltema was founded in 1963 in Linköping, Sweden, by Sten-Åke Lindholm. The brand is famous for its 'wholesaler for everyone' concept and is currently headquartered in Switzerland under the ownership of the Lindholm family's holding company, Birgma Holdings. While the brand is Swedish in origin, its manufacturing is highly globalized, with chemical products like lamp oil being sourced from various refineries across Europe and globally to meet Nordic safety standards.
