Perugina chocolate and confectionery

Perugina is an iconic Italian brand founded in 1907 in Perugia, Italy, by Francesco Buitoni, Annibale Spagnoli, and others. It became world-famous for the Baci chocolate, which was introduced in 1922 and includes a hidden love note. The brand represents the pinnacle of Italian chocolate craftsmanship and fine confectionery tradition.

In 1988, Perugina was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. Today, while it is part of one of the world's largest food and beverage conglomerates, the majority of its core production, including the famous Baci, remains centered at the San Sisto factory in Perugia, Italy. This allows the brand to maintain its 'Made in Italy' heritage while benefiting from Nestlé's global distribution network.
