The brand was originally co-developed in 2017 as a partnership between Skechers USA, Inc. and Barco Uniforms, a company founded in 1929 by Morris Barker in Los Angeles.

While the design and prototyping of these garments often take place at Barco's headquarters in California, the actual mass manufacturing occurs in multiple countries across a global supply chain to meet international demand. The brand is unique for its use of sustainable fabrics, such as materials made from recycled plastic bottles, integrated with moisture-wicking and stretch technologies.

As of 2026, the ultimate ownership of the brand lies with 3G Capital, a global private equity firm that finalized its acquisition of Skechers USA, Inc. in late 2025.
