Ovomaltine, known in many markets as Ovaltine, is a legendary Swiss brand with a rich history dating back to 1904. Originally developed as a nutritional supplement to help combat malnutrition, it was created by Dr. Albert Wander in Bern, Switzerland. The product is famous for its unique blend of malt extract, cocoa, and vitamins, providing a distinct malty flavor that has become a staple in households worldwide.

Today, the brand's ownership is split by geography. Associated British Foods (ABF) acquired the global brand rights from Novartis in 2002, with the exception of the United States, where the rights were previously sold to Nestlé. Consequently, while the brand maintains its deep Swiss identity and continues to manufacture its classic powder products in Switzerland for the European market, it operates under different corporate giants depending on the region. In Europe and most of the world, it is an ABF brand, while in the North American market, it is managed by Nestlé.
