Alemagna is a historic Italian brand established in Milan in 1921 by Gioacchino Alemagna. It quickly rose to prominence as a luxury confectionery and bakery brand, particularly famous for its traditional Milanese Panettone. Along with its rival Motta, Alemagna defined the golden age of Italian festive sweets during the mid-20th century.

Following a period of state-controlled ownership under SME (Società Meridionale di Elettricità) in the 1970s and 80s, the brand was later privatized. Today, the confectionery and retail operations are under the ownership of the Bauli Group, one of Italy's largest bakery conglomerates. This acquisition ensured that the brand remains under Italian ownership, maintaining its heritage of craftsmanship while utilizing modern distribution networks.

Alemagna products continue to be manufactured primarily in Italy, adhering to traditional recipes. The brand serves both the consumer retail market with seasonal cakes and the professional sector, including prestigious coffee bars and pastry shops across Italy.
