The brand is unique in the Danish market as a 'single estate' dairy brand, meaning all the milk comes exclusively from the cows at the Gram Slot farm rather than being a blend from various dairies. The milk is processed at a dairy in Christiansfeld, Denmark, before being distributed.

The brand's history is closely tied to the restoration of Gram Slot, which was purchased by Sanne and Svend Brodersen in 2007. To support the ambitious vision of creating a sustainable, large-scale organic farm, they entered into a strategic partnership with the Norwegian discount retail chain REMA 1000. Today, the brand is owned by Gram og Nybøl Godser A/S, with REMA Distribution Danmark A/S holding a significant ownership stake (approximately 46-50%). Consequently, Gram Slot products are sold exclusively through REMA 1000 stores.
